It’s a fraud

Right around 6 months of minimum usage (~10 times). Got the message for battery need replacement. Contacted customer support said everything is ok. After two months battery drains fast and charging shows 99%. Contacted customer service and told me I need battery replacement but I have to pay for battery because battery has 6 month warranty and robot has 1 year.

Neato website advertised 1 year warranty. No mention of battery has different warranty period. It seems neato know their inferior battery and hide it purposely.

Stay away from this untrusted brand.

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback and we're sorry to hear about your experience.

A 99% full charge is normal, however, fast drainage can be a sign of a weak battery.
As specified on the user manual, a battery replacement is recommended every 6-12 months, depending on usage and maintenance - Low usage whilst docked on the charging base may cause battery life depletion, a healthy draining/charging cycle is recommended.

You robot does include a 12 months 'Limited-Warranty' as seen on the picture, however, you can see detailed information on the limitations of your warranty and the 6 months period for the battery on our website, here: https://neatorobotics.com/pages/warranty

Does a good job but side brush quits

I’m replacing an older XV-760 (?) and I like this one except for one thing - the side brush spends most of its time stuck. Nothing seems to be jamming it, but it just stops running for no obvious reason. Small problem but leaves dust/lint at the baseboard. Eco mode is really nice and quiet compared to turbo and the older vac. Overall, I like it but wish the other brush would do its job.

D8 - Lots of value for price point

I picked up my first Neato XV some 10 years ago which has served us well (it still cleans our bedroom 2x / week). We purchased a D8 for our basement (approximately 1600 sq feet) that includes a family room (carpet - short loop pile, 2 bedrooms (carpet - long cut pile) and a bathroom (ceramic tile with two floor mats).

First run setup was a breeze. No problems using the app to connect to the D8, connecting the D8 to my wifi and updating the D8 with the latest software/firmware.

First run to map the downstairs didn't go so smoothly as the D8 didn't handle the bedrooms (it'd get stuck on the carpet). Second run to map the downstairs I closed the bedroom doors and got a solid map of the family room and bathroom. From there I set some "no go" areas (including the bedrooms). The bedroom carpet is 20 years old and will be getting replaced in the near future with a short loop pile.

Scheduling was easy and with the solid map and "no go" areas in place (ie the bedrooms) the D8 never gets stuck and reliably does its job. I have it doing a "Turbo" clean on Monday and Friday and an "Eco" clean on Wednesday.

Overall, for the price point and functionality of the D8 I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

If the D8 would be able to vacuum the bedrooms with the current carpet. I'd give it 5 stars.

A step back from the D7

This is our 3rd Neato and it's great for handling the fur from our 2 German Shepherds. We moved the D7 to the basement and are using the D8 on the main floor. It's performance is fine but it no longer goes under our couches. That's where the dog harlir gathers. Hopefully a firmware update can fix that. Otherwise the D8 gets demoted to the basement.
